The Best Quotes

Philosopher Seneca:

“True happiness is to enjoy the present, without anxious dependence upon the future, not to amuse ourselves with either hopes or fears but to rest satisfied with what we have, which is sufficient, for he that is so wants nothing. The greatest blessings of mankind are within us and within our reach. A wise man is content with his lot, whatever it may be, without wishing for what he has not.” – Seneca

“The fastest way to become rich is to socialize with the poor; the fastest way to become poor is to socialize with the rich.” Nassim Taleb

National Minimum Wage in Australia

If you want to work in Australia you need to know the national minimum wage. Currently as in September 2015 the national minimum wage is $17.29 per hour or $656.90 per 38 hour week (before tax).

As a student or a new immigrant in Australia you need to make sure that your employer pay your wage according to the national minimum wage. Please do not accept the job if they offer your wage less than minimum wage. You are not just destroying the job market price but it is also againt the law. Know your right as an employee in a Australian goverment  website www.fairwork.gov.au.

Lunch at Mekong Vietnam Melbourne

It was hot! 30 degree Celcius in Melbourne and I ordered beef and brisket hot noodle soup! Yeah it's kind a weird. People usually order other than soup with this kind of weather. The restaurant was quiet, it was still 11.20 am though. After I finished lunch around 12.00 pm later the restaurant were already full with hungry people.

Pizza d'asporto

I was lazy to cook that day, that's why I bought pizza's from this place. My wife really loves this pizza, it reminds her of Italia, the country that she had visited back in 1995. She worked there for 6 months. Here is the picture of this place.

Nexus 7" 2013 Photography

Hi, just want to show off my new gadget, Google Nexus 7 second generation (2013).  The new Nexus 7 has a rear camera now, the resolution of the camera is 5 megapixels. These are the photos that I took by Nexus 7 second generation. Yeah it's a bad photo, lot of noise, too much saturation...very-very bad photo, Google. Well it's a tablet not a camera anyway, what can I say. Sigh. Enjoy the photos, no retouch at all.

Photography With Samsung Galaxy S3 4G

I just got my Samsung Galaxy S3 4G last week. I love the phone but got turned down a little bit with it's photo capability. The pictures that I got from this phone it's just decent. It will good enough if it's in a broad day light, but it's bad in a low light, even on a cloudy day. Don't try your luck in a night day. Here are some the photos that I took with this phone. No photo editing, just straight from the phone.

Moody Blogger

Well, you can say I am a moody blogger. It's been 2 months since my last update, I don't know if I am just a lazy or a moody blogger. There's a couple of important thing happened in my life recently, the first one was I got a job, yeah even though is a casual job in restaurant, it's still a job. It means I am making money now and I can get out every morning from the house and go to a place where I work. I have a purpose and suddenly my life has a little meaning. The second one is, I am a Permanent Resident of Australia since last 24 December 2013. Yay! It means I can live and work in Australia indefinitely and as a bonus I also can live and work in New Zealand indefinitely too!!! And it's also just a one step further into citizenship of Australia. Wow. Thanks God!

Mobile Blogger

I love the Blogger application for Android. Now I can blog straight from my cheap chinese Android phone. Before then, I have to login from my big fat desktop computer, wait for 5 minutes until the computer ready from boot up and wait for more until I can login to blogger.com. Now I can just instantly blogging from my phone.
And not only that. The app blogger from google is really powerful and easy to use. I can browse and manage/edit my blog effortless, insert photo or other media very easy.  The only problem is that I need more exercise typing in touch screen keyboard. Sometimes it is annoying. Oh well. Blackberry Android should be much more helpful I guess? Now I can edit my blog while sitting in this park. Pretty neat heh? This picture was taken by the camera from a cheap Android Phone ZTE T 81 or Telstra Frontier 4G.

Visa 457 and Victorian Driving License

I just did some computer test to get my Australia Victorian Driving License. I passed the exam. Yay! It was called the road law knowledge test. There are 32 questions and you must have a minimum 25 correct answer to pass the exam.   It's not that hard as long as you study from the book called 'Road To Solo Driving handbook' by Vicroads. Why do I need to get Victorian driving license even though you can still use your overseas driver license if you are visa 457 holder?

Well the answer is because I am getting tired to bring my passport everywhere as an ID, passport is too big to put in your pocket hand and it's too important to leave it in the bag. I always worry that may be someday my passport just puff...gone and I am in the foreign country. Passport place is in the house, inside the safety box, and you don't have to bring it everywhere unless you go oversea. That's why driver license is quite handy. It's small, blend nicely in your wallet and reliable. So, c'mon guys leave your passport alone and go get your driver license!

Pictures Taken By Canon EF 40mm F/2.8 STM Lens

I just bought this lens for my walk around lens on my Canon 5D Mark II body. I do have the Canon 24-105 but it's to heavy to walk around with that lens, and I can not be discreet with that monster lens. Put this lens on my 5D and voila it's suddenly became my walk around and street photography lens, it's just like you only bring the body only, yes it's almost weightless, perfect.

Before I bought this lens I kept thinking of getting the Canon EF 50mm F/1.4 USM, but for me, 50mm on full frame body is still too long, and 35mm focal length sometimes it's too wide, that's why I took this lens instead. Well, long story short, you probably you have read a lot review about this lens, I don't want to repeat what other people did, so I just want to show the pictures taken by this lens. I just wish that this lens has F/2 and not f/2.8 aperture, but other than that it's a perfect walk around lens for me.  Enjoy!!!

Ugly Toilet at Flinders Street Station

Look at this picture, and also please imagine the smell...got that? Actually the smell wasn't that bad and it was not too dirty at all, but the graffiti is the one who makes the toilet looks ugly and dirty.

I don't know why they never try to erase those graffiti. I remember those graffiti was there when it was 2 years ago. Maybe they have erased the graffiti before and then it come up with the new one. I don't know, but it just look dirty. And this happened in the historical building in Melbourne.
